How to Set Up Tracking for Instant Quote (Google Analytics)

In order to complete these steps, you'll first need to set up visitor tracking to Instant Quote.

Please complete the steps to set up cross-domain tracking before proceed with the steps below. Instructions here. 

Set Up Key Events (Recommended)

These help you understand how homeowners are interacting with Instant Quote. 

Create a Results Page View Event: This tracks when a homeowner reaches the "Results" page with system and pricing recommendations. 

  1. Go to Admin → Events → Create Event
  2. Select Create
  3. Name the event: results_page_view
  4. Switch Toggle to "Mark as key event"
  5. Select "Create without code"
  6. Enter Results in URL* under page_view  and matches when URL contains
  7. Click "Create" in upper right corner

Mark Instant Quote Events as Key Events: These events are automatically generated once homeowners start using your Instant Quote

  1. Go to Admin → Events → Recent Events

  2. Mark the following as Key Events by clicking the star icon:
  • address_verify (fires when a user enters an address)
  • quote_request (fires on quote submissions)
  • service_request (fires on service submissions)

Note it may take some time for all of these to appear after launch. 

Create an Instant Quote Audience (Recommended)

This allows you to understand and re-engage visitors who interacted with Instant Quote.

  1. Go to Admin → Audiences → New Audience → Create Custom Audience
  2. Name it: Instant Quote Visitors
  3. Under “Include users when”:
  4. Page title contains “Instant Quote”
  5. Open Additional audience settings
  6. Choose Set to maximum limit

Set up Google Ads Integration (Optional)

This is useful if running paid Google ads to track leads, not just clicks and improve campaign performance over time. 

Link GA4 to Google Ads

  1. Go to GA4 Admin → Product Links → Google Ads
  2. Select your Google Ads account
  3. Link the accounts
  4. Enable:
    1. Allow GA4 to share audience lists
    2. Enable auto-tagging

Import Conversions into Google Ads

  1. Go to Tools → Conversions → New Conversion Action
  2. Choose Import → Google Analytics (GA4) → Web
  3. Import these events:
    1. address_verify
    2. quote_request
    3. service_request
    4. results_page_view
Recommended Conversion Settings to help Google Optimize:
  1.  Primary: address_verify (best signal for retargeting)
  2. Secondary:
    1. quote_request
    2. service_request
    3. results_page_view
